Description | Early dynastic temple, one of two discovered during a 1952 dig by the University of Chicago and University of Pennsylvania. A baked-brick faced wall with niches and buttresses (lower center) point toward the building's function. The temple proper lies beyond the wall where members of the excavation team are standing. |
