III: Events
Twelve mile evacuation test hike by members of the University of Chicago Outing Club. Jay Orear details the route of the three-hour hike from 57th Street and South Woodlawn Avenue in Hyde Park to Palos Park. The purpose of the hike is to determine the minimum time required on foot to reach safety in the event of an H-bomb attack on the city.
