Description | Labor activist Frank Lumpkin speaks at a Chicago rally for Democratic presidential nominee Michael Dukakis. Lumpkin, a thirty-year employee of the South Side Wisconsin Steel mill, organized the Save Our Jobs Committee in 1980 when the mill was scheduled for closure. Lumpkin's successful campaign kept the mill open and maintained benefits for its employees. |
